Why does Connector require permission to send notifications?

Connector keeps you informed about various activities, including inbound connection requests, accepted outbound connection requests, new chat messages, and your arrival at significant locations such as airports, convention centers, and sports venues. Should you wish to temporarily disable these notifications, you can conveniently do so via the Preferences menu under Push Notifications.
